Mathematical modeling of plant systems improves mechanistic understanding of plant physiology and biochemistry, revealing novel approaches to improve crop yield and resilience. Such studies are particularly important in the tropics which unfortunately will bear the brunt of global climate change. However, plant modeling in our country is still in its grassroots stage. In order to highlight this area of research to the student community and help accelerate the research in this domain, IISER TVM with support from the SERB High-end Kaaryashala program is organizing the South Indian Plant Systems Modelling (SIPSM) workshop in our campus.
