Synchronization is a fundamental nonlinear phenomenon observed in diverse areas of science and technology . It is also an area of intense research activities because of its fundamental importance in understanding numerous natural phenomena. Recent investigations in this line of research are focusing on dynamical systems with intrinsic delay and delay couplings. In this presentation, I will give a brief introduction to synchronization, time-delay systems, and review some of our recent results on synchronization in coupled time-delay systems. In particular,I will demonstrate the existence of phase synchronization in coupled time-delay systems with experimental confirmation using electronic circuits, stability of synchronization in two coupled time-delay systems using the Krasovskii-Lyapunov theory, and synchronization in complex networks with connection delays using the master stability formalism. Finally, I will provide a brief overview on my other research directions and further research plan.
