Recruitment for the post of Research Associate - 1 on externally funded project

The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Thiruvananthapuram is one of the premier science education and research institutes established by the Government of India in 2008 to impart high-quality education integrated with outstanding research in modern science.

The Institute invites applications for the following positions on contract basis:

Name of Post Research Associate-I
Title of the project Decipher the entry mechanism of the Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) and a SARS-like virus to develop antivirals that target host factors
Funding agency ANRF
Minimum Educational qualification
( as prescribed by the funding agency)
PhD in Molecular Biology/Biotechnology/Microbiology/Biochemistry/Cell Biology or related field with good work/ Teaching experience
Preference Candidate should be highly motivated to do basic research in biology.
Academically excellent candidate with technical proficiency in molecular biology and immunology, basic microbiology and recombinant DNA(rDNA) technology especially in cloning, designing and making gene constructs, growing and mammalian cell lines.
The candidate have a strong writing skills to write project reports and IP related matters.

Fellowship amount Rs.58,000 + HRA as applicable
Tenure of the post 1 year, extendable based on performance upto 3 years or till completion of the project whichever is earlier
Age 40 years (upper age limit)
