Project Assistant

Applications are invited for a project assistant position in the Wellcome Trust/DBT India Alliance sponsored project entitled “Genetic analysis of crossover assurance mechanisms facilitating meiotic chromosome segregation”.

No. of positions:  1

Qualifications: Master’s degree in Bioinformatics / Computational Biology with minimum of 60% marks.

Experience: Applicants should have strong programing skills in Perl /Python and knowledge of R language/Bioconductor packages. Should be proficient with Linux.  Prior experience with analysing Next Generation Sequencing data and softwares like SAMtools is desirable. 

Age limit: 25 yrs or below. A relaxation of 5 yrs will be applicable to candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC and women candidates.
Salary: Rs. 16,000/- plus HRA per month.

Duration: Initial appointment for one year (extendable for additional two years based on performance)

While the candidate may apply for Ph.D program of the institute separately, appointment in the project does not guarantee such admission.  Mere fulfilment of qualifications/experience requirements does not entitle a candidate to be called for interview.
