Suresh Chavhan is an Assistant Professor in the School of Data Science at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Thiruvananthapuram. Before this, he served as an Assistant Professor at IIIT Raichur, Karnataka, IIIT Kottayam, Kerala, and VIT Vellore, Tamil Nadu. He was a postdoctoral research fellow at the Federal University of Piauí (UFPI), Teresina - PI, Brazil, and a postdoctoral research associate in the Department of Electrical Communication Engineering at IISc Bangalore, India. He completed his Ph.D. at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore, M.Tech. from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Surathkal, Karnataka, and B.E. from VTU Belgaum, Karnataka. He is a Senior Member of IEEE, Member of ACM and an Associate Editor of the Alexandria Engineering Journal, published by Elsevier. He has received a few awards, including the 2021 IEEE Systems Journal Best Paper Award, the 2021 IEEE Madras Section's Publication Award, the Faculty Research Award from VIT Vellore, an Honorary Rosalind Membership from London Journals Press, and an International Travel Grant from the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB). His research interests include AI-assisted B5G/6G wireless communication and networking, network slicing, AI/ML/Deep and federated learning, edge intelligence, V2X, drone communication systems, next-generation intelligent transportation systems, edge/fog/cloud computing, and real-time intelligent systems.
