Mainak Adhikari was born in Siliguri, a city in West Bengal, India. He has completed Bachelors of Technology (B. Tech) and Master of Technology (M. Tech.) in Computer Science and Engineering from West Bengal University and Technology and the University of Kalyani, West Bengal, respectively. He has completed Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from the Indian Institute of Technology Dhanbad, India. He has completed Postdoctoral Research Fellowship from Mobile & Cloud Lab, Institute of Computer Science, University of Tartu, Tartu, Estonia with collaboration of Imperial College London from June 2019 to June 2021. Previously, he worked as Assistant Professor of Computer Science Department at Indian Institute of Information Technology Lucknow from July 2021 to 2nd February 2024. Currently, he is working as an Assistant Professor of School of Data Science at Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Thiruvananthapuram. Currently, his group is executing four sponsored projects on various Smart Applications using emerging technologies in the field of distributed systems and Artificial Intelligence. He is Senior Member of the IEEE, member of ACM and the International Society for Research and Development. His area of research includes Distributed Computing (Serverless Computing, Fog Computing, Cloud Computing), Internet-of-Things, and Data Analysis with AI approaches. He has contributed to numerous research articles/papers in various national and International Journals (IEEE, ACM, Elsevier, Springer) and Conferences (IEEE and Springer).
