IISER TVM conducts a range of outreach activities on campus and in nearby schools to nurture scientific thinking and research skills among children at the various levels.
We conduct a half-day program for visitors at the IISER TVM campus with IISER scientists, and technical assistants. The program consists of an introductory lecture by a faculty member followed by a tour to various disciplines of the institute. The tour includes a visit to the central instrumentation facility (CIF) along with the demonstration of sophisticated instruments (see the list of CIF instruments) followed by a visit to research laboratories. If the visiting students have only mathematics background, then a half-day "Walk With Ph.D Scholar" program is organized.
Please write to the outreach program coordinator: Dr. Ramesh Rasappan (outreach[at]iisertvm[dot]ac[dot]in) with your preferred date (see below to find a date) of visit and number of students. Once the date is finalized, you will be asked to provide list of information via email for the approval process.
Although we will try to organize your visit on the day of your convenience, the final date will be chosen by us based on internal arrangments. The program is conduced only once in a week due to the limited availability of TAs. Weekends and holidays are not available for the visit. Please look at the table given in the bottom of this page where you see the upcoming events, you can choose one of the listed date from the table or a different date that will not fall in the same week of listed date of the table.
We recommend upto 35 students per college for the better interaction although the limit is 55 students, we occasionally permit more than 55 students based on various factors.
